Over the past few years especially, manifestation has become incredibly mainstream. Social media is filled with vision boards, affirmations, abundance routines, “high vibe” advice, and stories of people manifesting dream relationships, dream homes, and financial success seemingly overnight.
And honestly? While I do believe manifestation can be incredibly powerful, I also think the internet has oversimplified it tremendously.
Because manifestation isn’t just:
thinking positively
pretending struggles don’t exist
repeating affirmations all day
or waiting passively for money to appear
Real manifestation work is usually much deeper than that.
It’s emotional.
It’s energetic.
It’s behavioral.
And often, it’s deeply tied to healing.
As someone who has manifested opportunities, relationships, income growth, and experiences I once thought felt impossible, I’ve also experienced seasons where manifestation felt frustrating, slow, confusing, or emotionally exhausting.
And honestly, those seasons taught me more than the easy wins ever did.
Because manifestation isn’t about controlling the Universe perfectly.
It’s about learning how to align with yourself more deeply while still taking intentional action toward the life you want to create.

One thing I think is important to acknowledge is that manifestation is not a quick-fix solution.
And honestly, I think it can become incredibly harmful when people use manifestation teachings to bypass real emotions, systemic challenges, trauma, burnout, or financial hardship.
Mindset matters deeply.
But so does reality.
Many people carry subconscious beliefs around money that quietly shape their behaviors and opportunities:
“I’ll never have enough.”
“Money is stressful.”
“Success isn’t safe.”
“Wealth changes people.”
“I’m not deserving of abundance.”
These beliefs often develop through childhood experiences, financial trauma, cultural conditioning, relationships, and survival experiences.
Research in psychology continues to show that subconscious beliefs significantly influence confidence, decision-making, self-sabotage patterns, and long-term behaviors.
Which means manifestation often starts with awareness before anything else.
Because you can’t fully align with abundance while unconsciously believing wealth is unsafe, unavailable, or undeserved.
Trust Is One of the Hardest Parts of Manifestation
If I’m being honest, trust has probably been one of the hardest manifestation lessons for me personally.
Especially during seasons where:
opportunities felt delayed
finances felt uncertain
things weren’t unfolding on my timeline
or I couldn’t fully see the bigger picture yet
Manifestation requires trusting:
yourself
the process
your ability to handle growth
and the possibility that life may still be working in your favor even when things feel unclear
And honestly, that can feel incredibly uncomfortable sometimes.
Because humans naturally want certainty.
But manifestation often asks us to release the need to control every detail and instead focus on alignment, consistency, and openness.
This doesn’t mean becoming passive.
It means loosening your grip enough to allow opportunities, support, and unexpected paths to unfold too.
The Three Pillars of Manifesting Money
At its core, I really believe manifestation comes down to three major things:
mindset
action
trust
Without one of those pieces, manifestation tends to feel incomplete.
1. Mindset: Rewiring Your Relationship With Wealth
Your mindset shapes how you:
perceive opportunities
handle setbacks
respond to fear
view money
and believe what’s possible for your life
One of the biggest shifts in manifesting money is moving from scarcity into possibility.
That doesn’t mean pretending financial struggles don’t exist.
It means refusing to let fear completely define your future.
Some supportive practices for strengthening an abundance mindset include:
journaling
gratitude practices
affirmations
therapy
mindfulness
subconscious reprogramming
challenging limiting beliefs

This is where I think a lot of manifestation conversations become unrealistic online.

financial freedom
…you still have to participate in your own life actively.
Manifestation is not passive wishful thinking.
It may look like:
applying for jobs
building a business
networking
improving your financial habits
investing in yourself
creating boundaries
learning new skills
healing emotionally
The Universe can create opportunities.
But you still have to meet those opportunities halfway.
3. Trust: Letting Go of Constant Control
Trust is what allows manifestation to feel less emotionally exhausting.
Because constantly obsessing over:
when it will happen
how it will happen
whether it’s happening fast enough
…often creates more anxiety than alignment.
And honestly, some of my biggest manifestations arrived after I finally stopped micromanaging every outcome so intensely.
Not because I stopped caring.
But because I stopped forcing.
There’s a difference.
Mindfulness Helps You Manifest More Intentionally
One thing I think helps manifestation tremendously is mindfulness.
Because mindfulness helps you become more intentional about:
your thoughts
emotional patterns
behaviors
decisions
habits
energy
When you’re constantly distracted, overwhelmed, burnt out, or operating purely from survival mode, it becomes much harder to feel connected to yourself and your desires clearly.
Simple mindfulness practices can make a huge difference:
meditation
breathwork
journaling
walking
gratitude
nervous system regulation
spending time in nature
And honestly, manifestation often feels much more grounded when it becomes less about “performing abundance” and more about creating internal alignment.
Embodying Your Future Self
One of the most powerful manifestation shifts happens when you begin embodying the version of yourself you’re trying to become.
How would that future version of you:
speak?
make decisions?
handle money?
protect their energy?
care for themselves?
move through challenges?
Because manifestation isn’t only about visualizing your future.
It’s also about becoming emotionally available for it.
For example:
if you desire financial abundance but constantly operate from panic, self-doubt, avoidance, or fear, your nervous system may struggle to fully hold that level of expansion.
This is why healing work and manifestation are often deeply connected.

Some of the most common manifestation blocks I see are:
fear of failure
fear of success
inconsistency
emotional attachment
scarcity mindset
over-controlling outcomes
lack of self-trust
avoiding action
focusing constantly on lack
And honestly, I think many people unknowingly create resistance simply because they’re trying so hard to force manifestations to happen perfectly.
But manifestation usually works better through alignment than obsession.

mindfulness

The key is consistency.
Not perfection.

And honestly, I don’t think it’s about controlling life completely either.
I think manifestation is really about becoming more aligned:
with yourself
your desires
your emotional world
your actions
your self-worth
and the life you genuinely want to create
The more your mindset, behaviors, energy, and decisions begin working together, the easier it becomes to recognize opportunities, build confidence, and move toward abundance more intentionally.
And honestly, some of the most powerful manifestations happen the moment you stop trying to force every detail and simply allow yourself to believe that a different reality is possible for you too.
